“What?” Blaze asked and I shook my head.

“Nothing,” I mumbled, but for some reason those words kept playing in my head.

  “You straight?” Blaze asked.

I nodded my head, letting him know I was cool. After a second he went back to talking.

“Shid, I don’t know how yo bitch got it. I don’t sell this shit by ones, I sell by the jar for two. I don’t even sell this out here, but in city to them white mothafucka’s. They love that shit,” he explained.

“Bitch was white, pretty white bitch too,” Khalil’s head nodded as he spoke.

My brows rose as he said that. I swear if it wasn’t for his skin color, I would’ve mistaken his ass for a black dude. No lie.

“That bitch tried stealing my sperm so I dropped her ass. But shid, I’ll buy two jars from you. Keep that ‘G’, fuck that shit, but the others, give me one of each,” Khalil said.

“Bae, look in that box and give ‘em one of each.” Blaze tossed me his knife so I could cut the boxes open. “Aye, you didn’t get that shit from me,” he told him.

“Blaze, which one to give him? Or it doesn’t matter,” I said and he looked at Khalil who shrugged as I handed him the two I had labeled OV1Y and MR1Y.

“Which ones are these?” Khyree asked, looking at Blaze.

“Oxycodone and Vodka, the other is Morphine and Rum. Those bitches love that rum, drop it in one of those fruity ass drinks. They ass be fuck’d up I was told,” Blaze explained and I snapped my fingers.

“A Mai-Tai, are you a cherry girl?” Now remembering where I heard those words from, my eyes snapped to Blaze. But I kept my mouth closed, it wasn’t the time or place. Blaze stared at me and again I shook my head as if to say everything was okay. I looked away from him and sealed the box back.

“That shit been sitting for a year, takin’ half will fuck yo ass up. That’s four,” Blaze explained before holding his hand out. Khalil reached in his pocket, pulled out a wad of cash and started counting off four stacks. Then he handed the money to Blaze, but he nodded towards me. “Give it to her. Peaches, count it.”

I wanted to roll my eyes at him. Grabbing the money, I sat at the counter and started counting it.

“How much would you sell one of these fah?” Khalil asked Blaze, which had me shaking my head. If his ass ain’t know that then he shouldn’t have been tryna sell shit.

“Twenty-five for one, twelve-fifty for a half, it’s fifty cherries in each jar,” Blaze explained as he stared at him as if he was stupid.

  “It’s all here.”

“Khalil, Khyree, good doing business as always, but y’all gotda go,” Blaze said, looking up from his phone. “Khyree, keep staring and I’ma fuck you up. This black girl is off limits, get the fuck gone. You see my chain,” Blaze said cockily as he grabbed the black diamond chain around my neck.

“That’s what I was looking at, tryna figure out how to get that bitch off. But at the same time thinking, what she see in yo black ass?” He responded with a cocky smirk on his lips.

I burst out laughing as Khyree held his fist out and I gladly bumped it.

“So that shit funny?” Blaze’s head titled to the side as he stared at me.

Looking at Blaze, I shook my head while wrapping my arms around his waist.

“Bae, no, it’s not. You know I love you. Yo chain remember.” Even though I said that, which was true, I couldn’t stop the chuckles from leaving my mouth.

“We out, it was nice meeting you, Ms. Peaches,” Khyree said, shaking my hand.

“Yo ass just wait until I see Janee,” Blaze threatened. I finally got why he wasn’t too serious, Khyree had a girl. “She knows where it’s at.” I rolled my eyes at that. “Fuck you rolling yo eyes fah? I’m lying?”

“I know where it’s at, just like you,”

Blaze licked his lips as he stared at me, smiling. “Mos def,” Blaze’s smile had me laughing.

“Peaches done got my man pussy whipped. Look at ’em, bitch straight cheesing. That pussy’s a deadly weapon, ain’t it? Tried tellin’ yo ass that when I got with Janee’s ass. Bitch had me hooked, pussy like no other. Shid, I can’t even think about tryin’ new shit because her pussy suckin’ my shit always pops in my head,” Khyree said with a lick of his lip,

  Again I started laughing.

  Is he serious?

“Get the fuck out. Aye, you wanna buy yo girl a house?” Blaze asked Khyree.

“Hell n’all, her ass gon’ think I’m on some marriage type shit.” His head shook frantically, “I’m good.”

After what he’d just said. I would’ve thought he loved ol’ girl, but his ass was serious.

“The fuck you mean, y’all living together now?” Blaze questioned. The look on his face showed his confusion.

“N’all, she just sleeps over. Janee got her own shit. She can’t move with me, good pussy or not, that bitch worrisome as fuck. I’d been ‘bout choked her ass.” Khyree’s tone was serious as his head continued to shake. “But what house?”

  “This one.”

Khyree looked at Blaze like he was crazy. “You just offed two mothafuckas in here…” He started while looking around the kitchen then down the hallway. “How much?”

  Again, I laughed.

“I’ll give it to you fah thirty, everything included except the couch,” Blaze told him.

“And that picture in the living room,” I quickly added.

“Thirty ain’t bad. All the rooms furnished, except that one?” Khyree asked and Blaze nodded his head. “I’ll get it off you. I got this bitch that can blow, her ass ‘bout to get evicted. I can set her up in here.”

“But I thought you just said…” I left it at that because he knew what I was gon’ say.

“Shid, Janee got good pussy, but ol’ girl can swallow a dick. Two different things. Shid, I ain’t fuckin’ her, she just give me blow. I only fuck Janee,” Khyree clarified and Blaze agreed.

“Pussy is pussy. Getting blow is something different.” I smacked the shit outda his ass and Khyree made a noise as he covered his head.

“Let me find out yo ass got another bitch blowing you, I’ma beat yo ass. Fuck wrong with you agreeing to some shit like that? Yo ass just triflin’, Khyree.” I was too through with those niggas.

“We out. B, hit me up tomorrow about this house.” They shook up before the twins left out of the back door going to a white truck with a cleaning logo on it that was parked in the alley. Their asses were riding around picking up dead bodies in a cleaning truck.

Who the hell knows people like this? Who the hell am I dating? What the fuck is this, the black mob?

  Chapter 4

  Peaches

The hand hitting my ass snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Yo ass gon’ quit hitting me—”

“These cherries, have you ever sold them to Mark?” I asked him, ignoring what he was saying.

“Hell n’all. Did you not just hear me say I don’t sell this shit over here. Why?” He asked.

“The night Mark tried to kidnap me, he asked me if I was a cherry girl, Blaze. I watched him make my drink. I looked away for a second, but that was the only time my eyes left him. GHB makes you forget, but I can remember everything else up to the moment I drank that Mai-Tai,” I explained.

But who sells laced cherries any damn way?

I knew the moment something clicked because he started nodding his head in understanding. “And you were at Franks, right?” He questioned with a thoughtful look on his face.

“Yeah, that’s where we were at. Why?” From the look on his face, he knew something.

“Don’t worry about it, I got it. Come on, Sam should be pulling up.” I knew that reply was coming.

I hated when he said don’t worry about it. That irritated the crap out of me. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed my purse.

“Don’t be rolling yo damn eyes, fuck you gotda attitude fah?”

Giving him his money, I walked past him. “Don’t worry about i
t.” Repeating his words back to him, I walked into the living room, peeking out of the window. “When Sam gets here, we gotda go. I have a class at five-thirty.” A yawn left my mouth as I flopped down on the couch.

“So now you got yo attitude you gotda go to school? We going to my mom’s once we leave here,” he said, looking out the window I was just in.

“You can go to your mom’s, but I have a class which you knew about this morning. I done already called off of work today, I’m not missing school. We can go over your mom’s when I get off tomorrow.”

I had already called in sick that morning so I could go to Bianca’s with him, but his ass had to do that other shit. Plus, I still needed to go get me a damn phone.

“How the fuck you getting there?” He came back with saying.

My eyes looked away from the clock on the wall to him. “What you mean how I’m getting there, you gon’ take me.” Looking away from me, he looked out the window again.

“When I leave here I’m going to my moms, so I don’t know how yo ass getting there.” His statement pissed me off.

“Why you wanna start something? You knew this morning I had school. That’s the only reason I called off from work, so I wouldn’t miss class. We had all morning to be at your mom’s, it’s your fault we never made it, so don’t start that stupid shit, Blaze,” I snapped at him.

“Yo ass still ain’t said how you getting there. I ain’t ‘bout to drive all the way across town and then come back here. Fuck outda here.”

I let out an irritated groan, he was about to make me hit his ass. “Let me see your phone, I can find my own damn ride. Ain’t nobody ‘bout to kiss yo yellow ass.” Getting up, I walked to him with my hand held out, which he looked at then turned to stare out the window. “Blaze, fo’real, man, give me your phone so I call for a ride, damn.” When he made no attempt to move, I stuck my hand in his pocket

“Man, get the fuck out my pocket, yo ass ain’t calling nobody to come here,” he snapped, pushing me back.

“No shit, you dumbass. I was about to call and see if anyone was free and then ask them to get me from yo moms, now stop playing. Blaze, I’m not missing school—.”

“Peaches, shut the fuck up, ain’t nobody tryna hear that shit. Yo ass always talkin’, damn.”

I was just about slap fire from his ass when a horn sounded and he walked to the door.

“That’s Sam. Here, count off two and give it to him.”

This nigga crazy if he think I’m about to do that.

“You count that shit.” Disrespectful ass bitch. Walking to the table, I grabbed my purse before going to the front door and leaving out. I went to the U-Haul truck Sam was in. “Hey, Pretty Boy,” I said while giving him a hug.

“What’s up—” He started saying as he hugged me back.

“Hello,” came a voice from behind Sam before a pretty, tall, dark skinned woman appeared.

“Hey,” I waved while letting Sam go. “Who this?” I asked because the bitch was mugging me pretty hard.

“Fix yo damn face, fuck you mugging for? Brandy, Peaches.” He introduced, making me roll my eyes.

“Okay, so what you about to do once you finish here?” I asked him, ignoring ol’ girl entirely because the bitch was still mugging. I was already pissed at Blaze and I didn’t want to take my shit out on her ass.

“Load the truck then drop it off. Shit after that unless you cooking, then I’m coming over to yours,” he stated and I was already shaking my head no. But before I could voice my thoughts, ol’ girl jumped into the conversation.

  “We’ll be coming,” she insisted.

My brows rose at that and I looked at Sam. “You know what? I’ma go see what’s takin’ Blaze so long, I’ll be back.” I didn’t have time for silly ass girls, not at that moment. I didn’t have to walk all the way to the door because Blaze was coming out. “You ready?”

“Here, put this on,” he said, handing me the black book-bag. Then he walked to Sam and shook up with him. “Once you finish, just come to my moms, I’ll meet you there. Peaches, lets go.” After handing Sam the keys to the house, Blaze went to his bike.

“Bye, Pretty Boy.” I waved as I got on the bike. I wrapped myself around Blaze, holding on to him tight. Once he started it up, he backed out of the driveway. Not taking a glance back he, pulled off.

Blaze drove down 50th and Broadway going to Voodoo. He pulled into the small lot and shut off the bike.

“But yo ass couldn’t take me to school?” Smacking my lips, I got off the bike as did he.

“Lose that damn attitude, man. We ain’t gon’ be here long.”

I let out an irritated sound, but I didn’t say anything else as he led us into the club. Once we went in, Blaze took me to the bar.

“I’ll be right back.” Blaze took the backpack from me then walked off.

There was hardly anybody in the little club.

“Hey, Leon, can I get a bottled water?” I asked, tapping on the bar top.

Leon turned to me and smiled. “What’s up, Peach? Ain’t seen yo ass in a minute.”

Reaching over the bar, I gave him a hug.

“Work and school been keeping me busy, you know. When I moved, I invited you to my house warming, but yo ass didn’t attend,” I said, playfully glaring at him.

“Man, I had to work. Check this tho, the last time you were here and ol’ boy you was with?” He asked, making my brows furrow. I started shaking my head no. “Ol’ boy we walked in on you with.”

Remembering that day him, King, and Mike walked into my apartment, I groaned. “Chase, yeah. What about him?”

“He was here a few days ago looking fah you. He be here every other night, but the other day he came to me asking about you. He told me to give you this when I saw you,” he said, passing me a piece of paper.

Laughing, I shook my head. “What are you, his errand boy, now?” I asked, laughing as I tore the number up. Chase was no longer in the picture. Good head or not, that ship sailed when he started doing business with King.

“Fuck you. Shid, he threw me a bill to make sho you got that paper. It’s only fair, he seem i’ight.”

Shrugging, I took a drink from my water. “Maybe so, but I’m actually seeing someone…” I trailed off saying as I bit into my bottom lip.

“No shit?” His expression turned serious, seeming a bit put off, but he quickly refrained himself. “He’s still alive?”

Laughing, I hit him. “Shut up, Leon, that shit ain’t even funny. You already know King’s ass.”

“That’s why I’m asking if dude is still alive,” Leon said seriously, making me roll my eyes.

“I had to beat his ass the other day fah starting shit—”

“Whoa, go back. You beat King’s ass?” He broke out laughing and I glared at him. “Shid, you said it, I’m just tryna make sho I heard you right.”

“Yeah, I beat his ass. Well, he ain’t hit me back. Even so, I won that fight. I got first and last hit.” Looking at Leon, we started laughing. “Fuck you, Leon. That’s why I don’t like you now,” I said, laughing. “Anyways, I graduate in a few months and you better be there.”

“Can I bring Tiffany?” My eyes rolled all the way in my head at the mention of that girl. “Peach, don’t be like that. I gave you a chance.”

“Shut up, Leon!” I whined out as I shook my head. “I don’t like her. I’m sorry, Leon, but no, she can’t come.” Shaking my head, I took another drink, watching him lean on the space in front of me.

“You still ain’t talked to Ron. Why you acting like that? What he do that got you dodging him?” He asked, taking on more of a serious attitude.

A heavy sigh left my mouth as I thought about his brother. “He didn’t do anything, Leon. I don’t know what you want me to say. I mean, I don’t know… Jerron is just… Complicated is what he is and talking to him… it’s just hard. You wouldn’t understand us, so—”

“I understand Ron tell me everything. He been missing you, tho. Compl
icated or not, you need to talk to him. You ain’t gon’ be able to dodge him forever, know that,” Leon told me, and I knew that. But I just couldn’t jump back into Jerron or think about him now that I was with Blaze.

My relationship with Jerron was simply complicated and had been since I was fourteen. It made it easier to not think about him at all, which I’d been doing. Until I was around Leon’s ass.

“I know. When I can’t dodge no more then I’ll deal with it. Until then, I don’t want to talk about him,” I told him honestly and with a shrug which seemed to make Leon laugh.

“If that’s the case, Peach, you might as well get ready to deal with it.” He gave that annoying smile that said he knew something I didn’t.

I opened my mouth to question him.

“You ready?” Blaze asked, coming up behind me. I wanted to say no just to figure out what Leon meant, but I decided to let it go.

“What’s up, Blaze?” Reaching over the bar, they shook up.

“Shit,” Blaze told him before looking down at me. “You ready?” He asked again. I sure hoped Leon wasn’t trying to start a conversation with Blaze’s rude ass.

“Yeah, I am. Leon, I’ma call you with details about my graduation and don’t bring that bitch, okay?” I said, hugging him again.

“She likes you tho, Peaches.” He knew his ass was lying. Tiffany stopped liking me when I caught her nasty ass sucking King’s dick and told Ebony who beat both they asses.

Rolling my eyes at Leon, I grabbed my clutch bag and followed Blaze out.

“How you know Leon?” Blaze asked as I got on the bike.

“He lived down the street from us when we were kids, he’s King’s friend. How you know him?”

“I don’t know him, I’ve seen him a couple times with King and was introduced,” he stated while starting up the motorcycle. Then he peeled out of the parking lot.

  Chapter 5

  Peaches

Coming to a nice quiet area, we pulled in front of a big, red, brick and white house with a two car garage attached. Blaze parked in the driveway behind his moms red car. Once he turned off the bike, I got off, about to walk past him.
